Aircraft over Türkiye

The map refreshes every 30 seconds; in between, aircraft are moved along their speed and track. Colours show altitude. Tap an aircraft for details.

    Aircraft types

Data comes from the open adsb.lol network, built from volunteer ADS-B receivers. Coverage depends on where receivers are; some areas and military aircraft may not appear. It runs about 30–60 seconds behind real time and must not be used for flight safety or operations.

      Guide

      Reading the map

      What is ADS-B?

With Automatic Dependent Surveillance–Broadcast (ADS-B), an aircraft broadcasts its satellite-derived position, altitude and speed about once a second on 1090 MHz. Ground receivers decode the signal and place it on the map.

      Callsign and registration

The callsign is the flight’s radio name: the first three letters, as in THY1, are the airline’s ICAO code. The registration is the aircraft’s licence plate; Turkish-registered aircraft start with TC-.

      Altitude and flight level

Altitude is in feet; 1 ft is 0.3048 m. Airliners usually cruise at 33,000–41,000 ft (10–12.5 km). FL350 means 35,000 ft.

      Squawk codes

The squawk is the transponder’s four-digit code. 7700 declares a general emergency, 7600 a radio failure and 7500 a hijack. They appear in red on the map.

      Ground speed

The speed shown is ground speed: the aircraft’s speed over the ground including wind. In strong jet streams, eastbound flights can exceed 1,100 km/h.

      Track

Track is the direction the aircraft moves over the ground, in degrees clockwise from north: 90° east, 180° south, 270° west.
