CORPORATE / LEGAL

Privacy Policy

We designed SpaceTRC so that you can use it without giving us personal data. This page summarises, in plain language, which information the site processes and why — and which it does not process at all. The legal details are in the KVKK information notice.

SUMMARY

In short

  • No account is needed; all content and tools can be used without registering.
  • No advertising, tracking or marketing cookies are placed on visitors.
  • No requests are sent to third-party services when pages load.
  • Your notes, favorites and progress stay only in your own browser.
  • Personal information reaches us only when you choose to fill in the collaboration form.

1

Collaboration and contact form

When you submit the form on the corporate desk, the details you enter (organisation, name, email, title, message) are stored on the site as a private record that only administrators can see. The form sends no automatic email; your inquiry is not published and is not added to any marketing list. Before sending, you can also download your inquiry to your device as a draft; that draft is not sent to the server.

2

Visit statistics

To understand which pages are read, we use Koko Analytics, hosted on the site itself, in cookieless mode. No data are sent to another company. Unique visits are counted with a one-way hash built from the IP address, browser information and a random value that changes every day; the hash can no longer be matched the next day. Results are kept only as aggregate numbers (page views, unique visits, referring sites). Visits by site administrators are not counted.

3

Information stored in your browser

Exploration route progress, favorites, the research notebook, lesson progress, dossier notes and observation plans are kept in your browser’s local storage (localStorage). If you use the offline library, the pages you choose are saved in the browser cache. This information never leaves your device; you can remove it at any time by clearing site data in your browser settings. Details are in the cookie policy.

4

Scientific data sources and external links

Most tools connect to no external source until you press a button. When you start a tool, your browser may send requests directly to scientific data providers such as NASA, ESA, CelesTrak, CDS or NOAA; your IP address and browser information then reach that service. External links on the site belong to other organisations; SpaceTRC is not responsible for their privacy practices.

5

Security

The site is served over an encrypted HTTPS connection. Only authorised administrators can access inquiry records. To prevent abuse, some tools use an irreversible hash of the IP address in short-lived counters.

6

Children

The site’s content is open to readers of all ages; the collaboration form, however, is intended for organisations and adult applicants. If you are under 18, please send the form through a parent or teacher.
