SpaceTRC / Sky Calendar

Sky events for the next 13 months

Eclipses, meteor showers, supermoons, the best nights for the planets and the turning of the seasons. Whether each eclipse is visible from your city and how much moonlight will spoil each meteor peak are computed individually. Add any event to your calendar with one tap.

Times are in your time zone. Meteor shower peaks can shift by a day from year to year; the best viewing is usually after midnight, away from city lights.

See what is in the sky tonight on the Live Observatory, visible Space Station passes in the ISS pass finder, and build a detailed plan in the observation planner.

    Sources and method
    1. Eclipse, Moon phase, planet and season calculations: the open-source astronomy-engine library (Don Cross), based on VSOP87 and NOVAS, accurate to about a minute.
    2. Meteor showers: average peak dates and hourly rates from the International Meteor Organization (IMO) calendar.
    3. Eclipse safety: only look at the Sun through ISO 12312-2 certified filters.
