3D Satellite Globe: The Satellites Around Earth, Live

Turkish satellites, the Space Station, GPS and more than ten thousand Starlinks at their real positions: a 3D globe, satellite search and what is overhead now.

SpaceTRC / 3D Satellite Globe

The satellites circling Earth right now

Turkish satellites from Türksat to İMECE, the International Space Station, GPS, Galileo, geostationary communications satellites and more than ten thousand Starlinks: all at their real positions, from real orbital data. Spin the globe, tap a satellite, see what is passing overhead.

How it works

Orbital elements come from CelesTrak and are refreshed every few hours. Each satellite’s current position is computed in your browser with NORAD’s SGP4 model. The night side and city lights on the globe follow the real position of the Sun.

Drag to rotate, scroll or pinch to zoom, and tap a point to see the satellite’s orbit and details. Red points are Turkish satellites.

    Search

    Find a satellite

Search covers the groups that are switched on. Turn on large groups such as Starlink with the buttons above.

      What you are seeing

      Orbital belts

      Low Earth orbit (LEO)

Below 2,000 km. The Space Station, Starlink and Earth-observation satellites such as İMECE live here, circling Earth every 90–120 minutes.

      Medium Earth orbit (MEO)

Around 19,000–23,000 km. Navigation satellites such as GPS, Galileo, GLONASS and BeiDou, each going around Earth twice a day.

      Geostationary belt (GEO)

35,786 km above the equator. One orbit here takes exactly a day, so the satellite hangs still in the sky; Türksat’s communications satellites sit in this ring.

To see the Space Station with your own eyes tonight, use the ISS pass finder; for a detailed orbit calculation of a single satellite, use the Satellite orbits lab. The impact of mega-constellations is covered here.
