SPACETRC / REAL REMOTE OBSERVING
Take your question to the sky.
Measure the image you receive.
Prepare your research plan, complete the real observation request yourself on the provider’s official page, then inspect the returned FITS or photograph locally here. Keep every stage and its provenance explicit.
SpaceTRC does not reserve telescope time or send commands or email. You make the observation request on the official provider page. Weather, target visibility, queues and access rules belong to the provider; observing time or delivery is not guaranteed.
Workspace is empty. Prepare a plan or explicitly choose the archive practice.
01 / RESEARCH PLAN
Prepare for a real request.
02 / COMPLETE THE REQUEST YOURSELF
Record your own receipt after the official hand-off.
MicroObservatory
The CfA / Harvard & Smithsonian Observing With NASA interface provides target selection, settings and request steps for real robotic telescopes. That page determines available targets and options. Enter your email only there.
Las Cumbres Observatory
LCO requires its own account and approved observing allocation; education access is through selected programmes. Standard Open Access calls are suspended for 2026B–2028B; other scientific calls have separate conditions. This page creates no account or partnership.
“Planned”, “user-reported request”, “received file” and “measured” are distinct states. Loading a file does not independently verify that it came from this request.
03 / THE ACTUAL RETURNED IMAGE
Inspect the file on this device.
FITS: uncompressed two-dimensional primary image; supported BITPIX 8/16/32/−32/−64. Cubes, tables, .fz and .gz are not supported. Unknown BUNIT is not assumed to be physical flux or ADU. JPEG/PNG measurements use display RGB mean levels only; they are not detector counts or scientific photometry.
Archive practice: a genuine derived 8×8 pixel stamp from one cadence of NASA Kepler-8 Q0 observations in 2009. This is a space-telescope archive, not a new request, new image or MicroObservatory observation.
Click the image or enter centre coordinates. Coordinates are zero-based; y=0 is the bottom row. Display contrast affects the view only; measurements use original numerical pixels.
No real image loaded yet.
Method: finite pixel sum inside the aperture; annular median background; net=sum−pixel count×median. No magnitude zero point, gain, Poisson noise, calibration, WCS, aperture correction or total error is invented. Measurement is refused if aperture pixels are invalid.
04 / A REVIEWABLE REPORT
Carry the plan, receipt, file identity and method together.
The JSON report does not embed the original image file. Keep it separately; reopen the original with the matching SHA-256 to reproduce. Imported historical measurements are not automatically reverified. Files and reports are not automatically persisted or uploaded.
The account programme workspace is a separate step: save your actual protocol yourself and connect this report to your own evidence record. This local report is not a public publication, provider verification, independent review or discovery.
Official sources and access conditions
Provider pages checked on 2026-10-24. Access conditions may change; the official page is authoritative. SpaceTRC claims no partnership or endorsement by these organizations.
