SPACETRC / RESEARCH LABORATORY 5.0
Explore measurements through another sense.
Listen to a Kepler light curve or dated NOAA Kp values through an explicit sound mapping. Inspect the plot, numbers and audible transformation together.
No data, Python runtime or sound starts on page open. These workspaces run in the browser; private account notes and reports are never transferred automatically.
Choose the measurement source

Define the mapping
The selected series minimum and maximum are mapped to logarithmic pitch: f = f_min × (f_max/f_min)^u. The time axis is compressed to your chosen duration. Different samples use their own min–max scales; pitches do not compare their absolute physical magnitudes.
This sound is a data representation, not ambient audio recorded in space. Interpreting measurements through sound does not by itself establish scientific evidence. Begin at a low volume.
Check what you hear
- A low value appears lower in the plot and sounds lower under the selected mapping. Changing the mapping changes how the same data sounds.
- Time gaps and time units matter. This tool interpolates pitch linearly between points; it creates no new physical measurements.
- Download the WAV and mapping JSON together. The latter records source identity, data values, frequencies and transformation parameters.
